Governor opens central distribution site for critical COVID-19 supplies.

A state logistics site in Central Florida normally used to respond to a hurricane is now being used to battle the coronavirus. The Orlando warehouse is centrally located and will soon be distributing the million medical masks and other critical supplies that have been ordered.

"When that stuff comes in," Governor DeSantis says, "it's distributed out to the counties and then they're able to work with local government, the hospitals, whoever may need some of this."

After touring the warehouse, Governor DeSantis said there's a cutthroat market as states, the feds, and local hospitals fight over the supplies. He says materials used for coronavirus testing kits are hard to come by, but supply is starting to meet demand.

Meanwhile, Governor DeSantis still thinks a statewide lockdown isn't needed, that people should be responsible enough on their own just to stay home. But when it comes to children, DeSantis says closing schools may have been a misstep.

"I think there's a question about whether the school closures haev been effective. There's really no evidence. You know, it was recommended."

Right now, the governor says the goal is to stop large gatherings - no more than 10 people - and travelers coming to Florida from the northeast need to self-quarantine for two weeks after their arrival.
