The lawyer for the families of 52 people killed, injured, or emotionally distressed during the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas on February 14, 2018, has confirmed a $25 million settlement has been reached with the Broward School District.

The Sun-Sentinel is reporting that terms have been reached between the families and the school district but according to the family attorney, David Brill, the settlement agreement is still being drafted.

The largest sum of monies will reportedly go to the 17 families whose children or spouses were killed and be divided equally.

Alleged shooter Nikolas Cruz intends to plead guilty Wednesday to all charges stemming from the February 2018 massacre in hopes he can avoid a death penalty sentence.
