A Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School graduate could soon be out as Vice-Chair of the Democratic Party.
A Democratic National Committee panel has voted to void its election of David Hogg, amid criticism from party officials about his announced plans to oust older Democrats in favor of younger candidates.
But party officials say yesterday's vote was based on a procedural challenge mounted by another candidate for vice-chair back in February. Hogg released a statement saying the "broader context" of his work to "reform the party" "loomed large over this vote."
The DNC will vote later this year on whether to remove Hogg, who recently clashed with Democrat-strategist James Carville.
Hogg was at his high school in Parkland when a gunman killed 17 students and staff members back on Valentines Day-2018. He became an outspoken gun control activist.
