A Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office deputy seriously injured when hit while responding to a crash on the Turnpike in December is heading home. Leo Cantave was discharged from a rehab facility Monday.
Sheriff Rosie Cordero Stutz says the veteran deputy still has more recovery to do. The man arrested for hitting him faces charges of reckless driving causing serious bodily injury and knowingly driving with a suspended license.
