WATCH: Parkland Parents Demand Justice as 8th Anniversary Approaches

The Broward Sheriff's Office and the Broward Commission were supposed to go on trial - in civil court - this month for their failures the Parkland parents believe made the 2018 Valentine's Day tragedy worse.

"BSO has done everything they can to sweep this under the rug. It is disgusting and it is unacceptable," said Jennifer Guttenberg whose daughter Jaime was killed in the 2018 massacre.

Max Schachter says the deliberate delays keep reopening their wounds. "If you're not willing to tell the truth, then stop being hypocrites. Do not come to our memorial ceremonies on Valentine's Day and remove Alex's name from the Broward Sheriff's Office Training Center memorial wall," Schachter said.

The Broward School district and the Department of Justice have settled civil suits with the families.

BSO attorney Seth D. Haimovitch issuing a statement: "It is understandable that the families of the victims of this senseless tragedy are frustrated at the pace of the litigation. The grounds for the filed motions and appeals are well founded in Florida law and are not for the purposes of delay. BSO’s filings streamline the issues raised by Plaintiffs and had BSO waited to assert these defenses and immunities at trial, the delay would be compounded."
