Seattle Seahawks All-Pro wide receiver Jaxson Smith-Njigba appeared to sustain an injury during his team's Super Bowl LX matchup against the New England Patriots Sunday (February 8) night.

Smith-Njigba was seen going into the blue tent on the sideline during the Seahawks' first drive of the third quarter and went to the locker room during the team's next possession. NBC Sports sideline reporter Kaylee Hartung reported that Smith-Njigba was observed by an independent concussion specialist after it appeared his head made contact with the ground on an earlier play.

Smith-Njigba recorded three receptions for 24 yards on nine targets prior to exiting the game. The former Ohio State standout is days removed from winning the 2025 NFL Offensive Player of the Year award at the 2026 NFL Honors awards and was selected as a first-team All-Pro for the first time and Pro Bowler for the second time, having led the NFL with 1,793 yards, as well as 10 touchdowns and 119 receptions, all of which were career-best totals in his third season.

The Seahawks led the Patriots, 12-0, at the time of Smith-Njigba's injury, having scored all of their points on field goals, which included at least one in each of the first three quarters.
