Detectives with the Broward Sheriff's Office Robbery Unit are searching for a man who assaulted a victim, left him bloodied, and stole his cellphone before fleeing.
At approximately 1:26 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 10, the subject, an adult male, approached the victim who was riding a bicycle in the 3000 block of Northwest 21st Avenue in Oakland Park and grabbed the bicycle tire. Detectives say he yelled at the victim to “give me my wallet.” The victim said he didn’t have the wallet. At that point, the subject began punching the victim in the face. When the victim fell to the ground, the subject took his iPhone and fled south on Northwest 21st Avenue. The victim was transported to Broward Health North for non-life threatening injuries.
Detectives say the subject was wearing a tan, woven sun hat with a black long sleeve shirt and blue jeans. He also had a full gray and black beard.
