Lightning Beat Maple Leafs To Snap Four Game Skid

The Tampa Bay Lightning (39-18-4) defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs (27-26-11) 5-2 on Saturday night at Stoiabank Arena in Toronto. With the win, the Lightning snapped their losing streak at four games.

Toronto scored first in this game, but the Lightning answered with four goals in the first and would build a 4-1 lead going into the third period. Ryan McDonagh, Jake Guentzel, Corey Perry and Oliver Bjorkstrand were the first-period goal scorers for Tampa Bay - for Perry, he was playing in his first game since re-joining the Lightning in a trade from the Kings on Friday. Brandon Hagel added an empty net goal in the third period and the Lightning would go on to get a 5-2 win,

Nikita Kucherov had four assists in this game to reach the 100-point mark on the season - it is the sixth time in his NHL career he's reached the mark. Andrei Vasilevskiy went 27-of-29 in net to get the win.

The Lightning are back in action when they go to Buffalo to play the Sabres in the second game of a back-to-back. Puck drop between the Lightning and Sabres is scheduled for 6:00 PM on Sunday night at KeyBank Center in Buffalo.
