Miami-Dade County ocean lovers won't be hitting the beaches tomorrow.

Mayor Carlos Gimenez is postponing his plan to reopen the beaches because of Miami's Saturday protests.

Gimenez announced his decision this morning following a late afternoon and evening of both peaceful and violent protests.

A countywide curfew has now been extended from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. and will be enforced with arrests. Essential workers are excluded.

It's not known when Gimenez will lift the curfew and allow county beaches to reopen.

Additional protest following the death of George Floyd are planned for Sunday afternoon in Miami and Fort Lauderdale.
