New rules will be in effect at the South Florida fair during the final weekend.

This Friday and Saturday night, after 8:30 p.m., every minor must be accompanied by an adult, who has to show proof of age. In addition, all guests ages 6 to 17 will have to buy a ride wristband prior to entering the fair beginning at 8:30 p.m. That rule does not apply to advance ticket holders.

Admission is free for children ages 10 and under, though the wristband will cost $40, if your child is not in the gate prior to 8:30 p.m.

Fair organizers call these proactive procedures put into effect in the wake of a high number of unsupervised minors roaming the fairgrounds during the busiest nights of the fair, which wraps up on Sunday.
