Gov. DeSantis Makes "Time's" Short List for "Person of the Year"

"Time" magazine has named Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as one of 10 finalists for its annual "Person of the Year," the individual or group that has had the most influence on the world.

In nominating DeSantis, "Time" cites the governor's clashes with Disney over the so-called "Don't Say Gay" bill, and called his November re-election the Republican Party's "most significant win." "Time" will name its "Person of the Year" on Wednesday.

Others nominated include China's President, Xi Jinping, the U.S. Supreme Court, Elon Musk, Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyoming), Ukraine President Volodomyr Zelenskyy, MacKenzie Scott, Iran protesters, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, and Gun Safety Advocates.
