TAMPA -- An animal rights activist who became a household name thanks to a Netflix show announces plans to shut down her big cat sanctuary.
Carole Baskin's Big Cat Rescue near Tampa, is sending its remaining animal population to a sanctuary in Arkansas.
A news release says fewer cats will need refuge in the future, because of a new law banning cub petting zoos.
Big Cat Rescue was showcased in the "Tiger King" documentary, as Baskin clashed with animal park owner Joseph Maldonado-Passage, aka Joe Exotic, who was convicted of plotting to kill her and sentenced to 21 years in prison.
