13-Foot Plus Gator Found With Human Remains In Pinellas

LARGO -- State fish and wildlife officers and Pinellas deputies discovered a more than 13-foot-long gator, with human remains, at a park in Pinellas County Friday.

The Pinellas sheriff's office says it responded to 134th Avenue North and 121st Street near Ridgecrest Park, after someone reported seeing a body in the waterway.

Jamarcus Bullard spotted the gator in a canal and tells News Channel 8, the gator pulled a human torso underwater when he threw a rock at it.

Pinellas deputies and FWC shot and then removed the alligator. It was a male measuring 13 feet, 8.5 inches. The dive team then retrieved the remains of an adult human.

The medical examiner will determine the cause of death and whether the gator was involved.
