An emergency meeting is being held on Wednesday in Riviera Beach to allow residents to sound off about the city's recent water woes.

The Florida Department of Health says that for several months, fecal bacteria was seeping into the drinking water but residents were never given a boil water order.

The city's now-former utility director had said that the bacteria was only in the wells and had not gotten into the water supply. He has been terminated and the utility now faces a fine of about $80,000..

Also at the meeting, which begins at 5 p.m., the wells will be discussed along with next steps with the water plan. It's happening at the Riviera Beach Marina Event Center.

Riviera Beach is building a new water plant.
