Ocoee Police Solve 2013 Cold Case By Tracking Down Loyalty Card

(Orange County, FL) - Ocoee Police releasing new information on a cold case from 2013. Retired detective Michelle Grogan only had a skeleton and a ring of keys containing two loyalty cards to work with.

She says the skeletal remains were found off the Florida Turnpike in 2016 and turned out to be connected to a missing persons case from 2013.

First, she had a facial sketch drawn from the skull and then investigated the loyalty cards.

She sent subpoenas to the corresponding stores and Grogan says after 18 months, Winn Dixie came back with a name.

Grogan was able to match DNA from the victim to his son in Jamaica, and identified him as Lloyd P. Williams. She says the medical examiner could not determine the cause of death but classified it as suspicious.

Ocoee Police Chief Vincent L. Ogburn is thankful the cold case was cracked and the Williams family has closure.
