Vice President Vance confirmed that U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner have already arrived in Switzerland to handle technical aspects of the negotiations. The Iranian delegation, led by head negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, is already on the ground in Switzerland. The talks, mediated by Pakistan and Qatar, are part of a broader effort to implement a 14-point memorandum of understanding between the U.S. and Iran. The memorandum outlines a 60-day period for reaching a final nuclear agreement and includes provisions for sanctions relief and reconstruction funds for Iran.
