No End in Sight

A spokesman for AAA in Florida is making a dire prediction about gas prices. Basically, things could soon get worse before they get better.

Right now, the statewide average for a gallon of regular is at an all-time high of $4.49. That's nearly 30-cents more than a week ago and a dollar-60 higher than this time last year. AAA's Mark Jenkins said the higher cost of fuel is being felt throughout the economy. "America runs on diesel and gasoline," Jenkins said. "And so, when those prices are much higher, that raises the cost of transporting your goods. Getting groceries to the grocery store costs more money, and delivering things to your doorstep will get more expensive."

Prices in Florida range from a low of four-28 in Pensacola to a high of four-64 in West Palm Beach.
