Tropical Depression 7 Forms in Atlantic

Forecasters at the National Hurricane Center now say a system in the central Atlantic has strengthened into Tropical Depression 7.

At the moment, it's east of the Lesser Antilles with top winds of 35 mph, and expected to move west over both Puerto Rico and Hispaniola. Max Defender 8 meteorologist Amanda Holly said forecast models to bring this one a "little closer to home, but most forecast models at this point do re-curve it out to sea before it reaches Florida."

If this system becomes a Tropical Storm, it would be given the name Fiona.
