Newly Signed Law Aimed At Cracking Down On Voter Fraud In Florida

Governor Ron DeSantis is in the Villages today signing House Bill 991. The law requires voters to provide proof of citizenship when registering to vote and present a photo ID when casting a ballot. This means a driver's license will now include whether or not a person is a U-S citizen. It also requires all voting to be done on paper ballots, so there's a paper trail in the event of a recount. Critics worry it will disenfranchise eligible voters who are unable to meet the bill’s demands. The law takes effect January First.
