South Florida Man Arrested for Brutal Beating of Younger Sister

Miami Gardens, FL - Miami Gardens police arrested a 25-year-old man for allegedly beating his younger sister and is charging him with aggravated child abuse, domestic battery by strangulation, and resisting arrest.

Alquez Markeesse Griffin is facing serious charges after allegedly inflicting a brutal beating on his younger sister earlier this month.

According to police reports, the abuse came to light after a school counselor noticed the victim's injuries and alerted authorities.

The victim, whose age remains undisclosed, initially withheld information. However, a subsequent interview revealed a harrowing account of the assault.

Griffin is accused of dragging his sister into a bedroom, punching her repeatedly, and attacking her with a curtain rod.

The report further details how he choked her until she nearly lost consciousness and then used water to revive her.

The victim also reported threats and attempts to cover up the incident.

Police noted extensive injuries on the victim, including bruises, scratches, and redness around the eyes.

Griffin was apprehended on Tuesday and faces charges of aggravated child abuse, domestic battery by strangulation, and resisting arrest.

He is currently being held on a $4,500 bond.
